Home remedies for nasal congestion

Cardamom seeds:Take a teaspoon of cardamom seeds and then heat it over coals. Inhale the smoke. This is very effective in removing nasal congestion.
 
Carom seeds (ajwain):Take a handful of carom seeds and grind into powder. Take the powder in a piece of cotton cloth and tie it. Place this near the pillow.
 
Grapefruit seed extract:Heat a cup of water and boil until it is warm. Now put in a few drops of grapefruit seed extract and then inhale the vapor. Do this two to three times and before going to bed and after waking up in the morning.
 
Bath:Take bath in warm water to get relief from nasal congestion. Steam bath is also very good.
 
Horseradish:Grate a fresh horseradish and take one to two teaspoon of it on a toast. To it add apple cider vinegar or honey and then eat the toast. When you munch on the toast, inhale deeply, so that you take in the fumes which will give you relief from nasal congestion.
 
Apple cider vinegar:Take two tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a pan and heat until it begins to steam. Inhale the vapor to open the nasal passage.
 
Eucalyptus essential oil:Take a couple of drops of eucalyptus oil in a piece of cotton or a cloth and taking it near the nose inhale deeply. This clears the air passage.
 
Peppermint oil:Peppermint oil is also an excellent ingredient to decongest the nasal passage. Take two drops of peppermint oil in a cotton ball and then breathe deeply.
 
Fluids:Take in plenty of fluids throughout the day. Drink as much of water, tea and fruit juice as much as possible, throughout the day.
 
Pepper:Roast a couple of black pepper seeds over fire and inhale the fumes. This will clear the nasal airway and gives fast relief. The fume dilates the blood vessels of the nose and increases the secretions and this in turn clears away the secretion of the nose.
